Dominique, a prime example of today’s modern-day DIY musician, began developing an interest in electronic music while studying Biology at New York University. She started learning how to use music production software Ableton Live, and collaborated with other producers for a while before realizing she wanted to be the sole producer of her music. After releasing a few singles to critical acclaim, Dominique began writing her debut EP in early 2016. Having never set foot in an actual studio, she produced her entire EP on her laptop in her NYC apartment, and recorded vocals in her fellow NYU alumnus and friend’s closet. Singles from the upcoming EP have been lauded as “gleaming electropop” (Entertainment Weekly), “stunning” (the 405), and “songs that you won’t just want to pass by on” (Earmilk), while Dominique’s Spotify has gathered over 1.5 million plays in the past year. Dominique is currently preparing her live show and starting to work on her next musical project.
